To skin alive the distance which separates, and creates incomprehension and fear. A WALK ON MY SIDE is made of several layers and, even though it follows a very precise guide book, we were able to improvise in order to better meet each other. During the first months we built the film from Patricia’s memory. There lies her most significant material. Then came the film of Patricia’s encounter with that memory. She inhabits it, transforms it. During the screening, we walk alongside her. On that bit of road, past, present, memory, dreams, oversights and desires intermingle. Our desire is to be in the realm of the sentient – to share it, plunge into it then come back.
